A private appointment with Dr Knight gives you space to discuss an intimate skin concern openly and without judgement. She will listen carefully, examine the area with your consent and explain the nature of the concern and the options available. Where cryotherapy is suitable, treatment will be planned with attention to your comfort, healing and individual needs. You remain under the care of the same doctor for treatment and follow-up, with clear advice and personal support at each stage.
PERSONAL ASSESSMENT FOR INTIMATE SKIN CONCERNS
Intimate skin concerns can affect your comfort and confidence, and seeking advice may feel daunting. Dr Knight provides a private, unhurried appointment where you can discuss your concerns openly and without judgement.
Assessment is available for genital warts, external intimate skin tags and pearly penile papules. These concerns have different causes and do not all require treatment. Dr Knight will explain what she finds and discuss whether cryotherapy, another approach or reassurance alone is appropriate.
Your examination takes place with your consent, with attention to your privacy and comfort. If a lesion is uncertain, changing or requires further investigation, Dr Knight will explain the appropriate next step rather than proceeding with freezing.

Dr Ayanna Knight is a GMC-registered doctor and experienced GP with over 18 years of clinical experience. From your first conversation through treatment and follow-up, you remain under her personal care, with thoughtful advice and support from a doctor who knows you and understands your concerns.
HOW DOES INTIMATE CRYOTHERAPY WORK?
Cryotherapy uses controlled freezing to treat suitable skin lesions. Dr Knight applies the CryoPen precisely to the area being treated, tailoring the application to the nature, size and location of the lesion.
Treatment aims to progressively reduce the lesion, with improvement assessed as the skin heals. More than one session may be needed, particularly for larger skin tags or clusters of warts. Dr Knight will review your progress before recommending further treatment.
Every consultation, treatment and follow-up is personally undertaken by Dr Knight, giving you continuity of care and clear guidance throughout your treatment course.
CAN I BOOK IF I AM UNSURE WHETHER I HAVE A SKIN TAG OR A WART?
Yes. You do not need to identify the concern yourself before arranging an appointment. Dr Knight will listen to your concerns, examine the area with your consent and explain her findings. If further investigation or a different service is needed, she will guide you on the appropriate next step.
CAN ANAL SKIN TAGS BE TREATED WITH CRYOTHERAPY?
Cryotherapy may be an option for suitable external anal skin tags following examination. Dr Knight will assess the size, location and nature of the skin tag, discuss any discomfort or hygiene concerns and explain the likely treatment course. Some skin tags may be better suited to another approach, which Dr Knight will discuss with you.
CAN I HAVE INTIMATE CRYOTHERAPY AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
Assessment and treatment may take place during the same appointment where clinically appropriate and sufficient time is available. Dr Knight will first explain the options, expected healing, relevant risks and treatment cost, giving you time to decide without pressure. Some concerns may require further assessment before treatment can be offered.
WILL TREATMENT BE UNCOMFORTABLE?
Freezing can cause a stinging or burning sensation, and intimate areas may be particularly sensitive. Dr Knight will explain what to expect, discuss ways to manage discomfort and pause treatment when needed. Your comfort remains an important part of how treatment is planned and delivered.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHILE THE AREA HEALS?
Tenderness, redness, swelling and blistering can occur after treatment. The treated area may develop a crust or superficial wound before healing. Recovery varies according to the location and extent of treatment.
Possible complications include bleeding, infection, scarring and changes in skin colour, which can sometimes persist. Dr Knight will explain the risks relevant to your skin and the area being treated.
WHAT AFTERCARE WILL I RECEIVE?
You will receive written aftercare tailored to the area treated, including advice on gentle cleansing, protecting healing skin and avoiding friction or sexual activity until the area has healed.
You can contact Dr Knight directly with questions during recovery. Seek prompt advice if you develop increasing pain, spreading redness, discharge or other concerns about healing.
WILL I NEED MORE THAN ONE TREATMENT?
A course of treatment is often needed. Dr Knight will review healing and progress before deciding whether further cryotherapy is safe and appropriate.
Follow-up reviews and further cryotherapy for the agreed lesions within your treatment course are included in the original treatment-course price. Complete removal cannot be guaranteed, and Dr Knight will explain if another approach would be more suitable.
CAN GENITAL WARTS RETURN AFTER TREATMENT?
Treatment aims to remove visible warts, but it does not guarantee clearance of the underlying human papillomavirus (HPV). Warts can therefore return after successful treatment.
Dr Knight will discuss what this means for your care and advise when sexual health assessment or testing would be appropriate. Confidential assessment and treatment are also available through NHS sexual health services.
HOW DO I ARRANGE MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
Begin through Cryotherapy & Focused Treatments Registration, priced at £100. This includes a personal medical consultation and focused assessment with Dr Knight, together with a £50 treatment credit valid for six months if you decide to proceed.
Treatment is charged separately. Dr Knight will explain the recommended approach and cost following assessment, with no obligation to proceed.
