One of the most popular non-invasive treatments available with no downtime, no peeling and suitable for all skin types. This skin rejuvenation treatment leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and revitalised immediately after treatment. A course of treatments offers excellent results for improving fine lines, uneven skin tone and texture.

Glycolic acid is a superficial peeling agent naturally derived from sugar cane. This mild chemical skin exfoliant not only improves overall skin health but rejuvenates the skin’s surface by infusing Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) that stimulate collagen and elastin growth, accelerating the skin renewal process.

For our Glycolic Skin Peels we use the premium DCL brand. With 40% Glycolic acid, the peel itself is a powerful anti-microbial agent and is buffered with willowherb, a natural anti-inflammatory, making it an excellent treatment for active acne and folliculitis.

The Obagi Blue RADIANCE Peel is a superficial, Salicylic acid-based peel offered to our clients to provide deep exfoliation and help improve overall complexion. The Blue Peel RADIANCE contains a blend of acids for a gentle resurfacing of the skin, resulting in tighter, smoother, brighter looking skin after just one treatment.

Also known as a Beta-Hydroxy Acid (BHA), Salicylic acid loosens and removes debris, oils and dead cells attached to the skin’s surface as well as embedded in the pores. As Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, it is the most effective chemical peel agent to penetrate sebum-filled follicles and pores. Along with the powerful anti-inflammatory property of Salicylic acid, Obagi's Blue Peel RADIANCE treatment is central to many of our Acne treatment protocols.

As well as offering an effective treatment for moderate to severe Acne, our Salicylic acid peel treatment is also an excellent choice to reduce pigmentation, even skin tone and shrink enlarged pores. Blue Peel RADIANCE effectively exfoliates the uppermost damaged skin layers, leaving your skin fresh, renewed and radiant.

In addition to it's rejuvenating properties, Salicylic Acid is also the recommended chemical peel option for oily, acne prone skin. Dr Knight has vast experience of treating patients with troublesome acne in which other traditional methods have failed. Our Doctor Led clinic also exclusively offers body treatments for other acne prone areas which are often missed such as the shoulders, chest and back.

To enhance the results of this medical grade peel, use of the Obagi Nu-Derm System can be used concurrently with a course of Salicylic Peels. This specialist skincare programme transforms the skin by stimulating skin cell turnover to optimise skin health. The transformative effects of the Obagi Nu-Derm System aid epidermal skin resurfacing as well as plumping the dermis as it stimulates collagen and elastin to improve overall skin health.

Continued use following your chemical peel enhances overall results with a significant improvement seen in cases of melasma and deep pigmentation of the skin.

PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

ONE MONTH BEFORE CHEMICAL PEEL

Avoid semi-permanent make-up treatment.

ONE WEEK BEFORE CHEMICAL PEEL

Avoid direct UV exposure, ie sunbathing, sun bed treatments, holidays to hot climates.

Avoid Medical Aesthetic treatments including Botox, Dermal Fillers, skin microneedling.

Avoid hair removal treatments including electrolysis, waxing, depilatory creams, laser hair removal.

Cease using any exfoliating or skin care products that may be drying or irritating including Tretinoin, alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) - glycolic acid, lactic acid and beta hydroxyl acid (BHA) - salicylic acid.

THREE DAYS BEFORE CHEMICAL PEEL

Avoid laser therapy, microdermabrasion, any heat treatment including sauna and steam, swimming in chlorinated water.

Cease using any products containing Retinol, AHA, BHA, Benzoyl Peroxide.

POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

48 HOURS FOLLOWING CHEMICAL PEEL

Rinse the skin gently with cool water; avoid harsh cleansers or washcloths.

Avoid using any products containing Retinol, AHA, BHA, Benzoyl Peroxide; any exfoliating or scrub products.

Avoid swimming in chlorinated water, any heat treatment including sauna and steam.

Use SPF 30+ daily and avoid direct UV exposure, ie sunbathing, sunbed treatments, holidays to hot climates.

oNE WEEK FOLLOWING CHEMICAL PEEL

Avoid laser therapy, microdermabrasion and Medical Aesthetic treatments including Botox, Dermal Fillers, skin microneedling.

Use SPF 30+ daily and avoid direct UV exposure, ie sunbathing, sunbed treatments, holidays to hot climates.
