LED LIGHT THERAPY

LED light therapy is the use of clinically proven wavelengths of UV-free LED lights for the treatment of skin conditions. LED light therapy is a painless skin-care treatment that can boost collagen production and treat acne as well as a host of other benefits. “LED” stands for light-emitting-diodes and the treatment was first developed by NASA. The treatment works by emitting light that is absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin.

LED results are clinical proven and whilst the results are not as dramatic as plastic surgery or laser treatments, it is gentler, more natural, less expensive and offers zero downtime.

Light Therapy for Skin

‘Light Therapy’ is often referred to as ‘phototherapy’ or ‘photo-bio-stimulation’ and is a clinical proven therapy for skin. It is a natural process that works on all skin types, but each wavelength of light emitted has a different effect on the skin.

Red light therapy at 630nm is used for anti-ageing because of its ability to stimulate collagen and elastic production.

The increase in collagen production strengthens the skin making it more resilient which is why it is used for the effective treatment of rosacea and reducing the redness associated with broken capillaries.  The naturally stronger skin also helps retain moisture effectively.

The use of red light is used to reduce the inflammation within the tissues to help the healing process which can be evident if the treatment of repairing sun damaged skin, fading scars, healing blemishes and improving overall skin tone and texture.

Blue light therapy at 415nm is predominantly used for its anti-bacterial properties and in the main the treatment of acne. The blue light emitted from the device is absorbed by porphyrin. The bacterial causing acne, P.acne contains abundant amounts of porphyrin and when the blue light is absorbed an oxygen free-radical is created which is released into the bacteria and results in bacterial death.

Blue light also has anti-inflammatory characteristics although the best results are seen when combining red and blue light for its additional skin rejuvenation and wound healing benefits.

Infrared light is also known for its effect on skin as is emitted at 830nm and penetrates much deeper than the red light and the blue light meaning an ability to promote the healing of wounds and pain relief

Light Therapy Facial

A light therapy facial is a gently light treatment that is suitable for the face and neck. It has clinical proven results and is often used as an alternative to laser and IPL as it is less aggressive with no downtime and totally painless.

It is also generally a less expensive, more natural, way to increase collagen, treat acne, lock in moisture to the skin and even-out the complexion as a whole leaving many clients with the celebrity driven “Hollywood glow” as seen with an OPERA LED facial therapy treatment.

Some the advantages of an LED therapy facial are

  • Increased collagen and elastic production
  • Reduced appearance of sun damage skin and freckles
  • Reduced blemishes and hyperpigmentation
  • Decreased appearance of spider veins & broken capillaries
  • Fading of age and liver spots
  • Diminishing fine lines & wrinkles
  • Control of acne and bacterial infection

LED Facial Treatment

LED Facial treatment has some great benefits and advantages such as

  • No risk of burning
  • No known side effects
  • Zero down time after treatments

Blue Light LED facial treatment – Effective in the treatment of mild to moderate acne, as well as stabilising oil glands, easing inflammation and purifying the skin.

Red Light LED facial treatment - Penetrates deeply into the skin, to stimulate collagen, rejuvenate the face, encourage cellular repair, and boost the circulation to the face so that the general complexion is more youthful and vibrant.  Red light facial treatments are used for reducing scarring, reducing wrinkles, reducing deep lines, and evening out the skin tone.

CHEMICAL SKIN PEELS

Lines, pigmentation and scarring can blemish the skin. Medical skin peels exfoliate the top layer of skin to remove dead cells, unblock pores and remove impurities. This process stimulates new, healthy skin cells to come to the surface and encourages collagen production to give a firmer, brighter complexion. This rejuvenating treatment can be used on the face, neck, decolletage and hands.
